Mariella grew up in Surrey with her three brothers and started her professional life on stage and screen as a child actor but animals were always her main passion. She graduated from University of Bristol in 2011 and started her veterinary career at a busy small animal practice in West Sussex.
She relocated to the island in 2018 with her husband Matt to be nearer their families and to take advantage of the wonderful countryside and beaches with their scruffy little dog Izzy. Mariella enjoys the diversity of cases seen as a GP vet and being able to work alongside specialists to deliver high quality care for her patients while maintaining continuity of care. Her hobbies include dog walks, surfing, amateur dramatics and yoga.
Mariella has just returned from maternity leave after giving birth to a bouncing baby boy in 2021.
