Amy joined the Island VetCare family as a volunteer and six months later started full time as one of our animal care assistants. Currently, her primary role within the practice is Island Referrals Coordinator but you will alseways find her helping in both clinical and admin alike!
Amy has worked with exotic pets for many years in many different environments (including a photographer at London Zoo!) – she has an Advanced Diploma in Zoo Animal Management and Behaviour, OATA City and Guilds qualification in Fish Health and Biology as well as several smaller canine behaviour and nutrition qualifications.
Amy has a keen interest in animal rehabilitation, which is why I was eager to take on the role with Island Referrals, to be able to see a patient progress and recover and help get them back to full fitness.
In her spare time enjoys playing football, singing and wildlife & zoo photography, She has many pets at home, including 3 parrots, 3 canaries, frogs, an axolotl, 2 house rabbits and an awesomely photogenic retriever called Deku.
