We are looking to recruit a patient-focused, motivated and friendly, Veterinary Surgeon. We welcome applications from all but for candidates interested in internal medicine there is the opportunity to further this interest and work alongside the referral side of our practice.
Island VetCare, is an independent, animal welfare-focused, RCVS-accredited Small Animal Practice, with ISFM Gold Standard, RWAF Silver status and Dog Friendly Clinic accreditation.
Our fantastic team comprises 9 Vets, 11 qualified Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 3 animal care assistants, pharmacy assistants and support staff. Every member of our team is highly valued and extremely skilled at what they do. We promote a professional and fun atmosphere throughout and enjoy lots of work social events together. The ethos of the practice is low stress for both patients and our staff.
There are separate dog, cat, isolation and recovery wards, a separate cat consult and waiting room, 4 additional consult rooms and two theatres. We are also home to Island Referrals, which provides broad specialist surgical, medical, and ophthalmological services for both internal and external referral cases. As you can imagine the practice is very well equipped, boasting multiparameter machines at every station, CT, visiting MRI, digital and dental X-ray machines, EO steriliser, diathermy, ultrasound.
This position would suit somebody looking to remember why they went into the profession in the first place, who wants a varied case load, a strong and supportive team, in a clinic built with the patient in mind.
