24-hour Emergency Service

Island VetCare is available for your pet 24 hours a day. Our regular consultation hours are 8.30am – 6pm Monday – Friday and 9am-12pm Saturdays. For emergencies outside of these times please call (01983) 214747 and you will be put through to the vet on duty who will be able to advise you or arrange an emergency consultation at our Ryde practice.

Repeat Prescriptions

The Pharmacy will be open Monday to Friday during working hours and on Saturdays 9am until 12pm. You can either phone, email (pharmacy@islandvetcare.co.uk) or request in person to order your pets repeat prescriptions.

Dental Care

Dental disease can result in bad breath, painful chewing, and tooth loss. Bacteria under the gum can travel to the heart, kidneys, and liver. Professional dental cleaning is required to remove plaque and tartar from a pet’s teeth and to assess the health of the mouth.  A thorough dental cleaning requires that the pet be under anesthesia.

What we need to understand as a pet owner is what our pets actually require to be as healthy as possible, what do they require to live a long and fulfilled life. We are responsible for providing, to meet their individual needs as they rely on us in most areas of their life.

Microchipping

In April 2016 a law came into effect that all dogs over eight weeks of age must be microchipped. Up to date details are held on the microchip database for identification purposes. Failure to have your dog microchipped could result in a fine and/or legel proceedings.
